A Master At Falling In (And Out) Of Love

transcendentalism:

You’re open with strangers

yet a stranger with friends

you said that you loved him

but you left him again

Problems don’t change if

relationships end

they hide in the dark

as you try to be friends

Nostalgia holds you back from the

truths you can’t face

some things aren’t meant to be

no matter what the pace

You can’t help everyone you love

they won’t grow if they don’t want to

keep your business from your home life

mixtures only lead to trouble

You move on and you’re happy

but the story’s just the same

another boy, another heartbreak

but if he’s the centre of your game

Take a word of my advice

people can’t be toys to play with

if you break him, then you keep him

he’s too delicate to take it

I’ve watched him from the sidelines

and I’ve seen him hide his troubles

under manic smiles and laughter

not to mention drugs and boozing

Don’t let his laughter fool you

he lives his nightmares daily

when you lie with him in bed

it’s not the cold that keeps I’m shaking

He may not want to mess things up

but the truth is that he’s lonely

if you choose to hold his heart

then be sure to hold it carefully

(don’t break the boy)
